Back in the saddle again!

3.3 miles into my 17 miles on Saturday I pulled up lame. I have a rolled tendon that has given me some pain but on Saturday, it was just too much. I went and got me some new shoes, hoping that it would help the pain. I ran 3 miles on Tuesday and felt good. So tonight I went 10 after work.

I had no leg problems. I felt strong most of the run. I am now within two months of the marathon. I have eliminated all soda from my diet. I think that I could already tell a difference a week into a pop-less life. I feel that I still have a ways to go but that I will be ready, ready, ready, ready to run.

Out with the old, in with the new.

I finally traded in my old flat tires. Good bye rolled tendons and shin splints. Hello fast times and many more enjoyable miles.

Do you like my new kicks?

15 Miles of a Hillary term in office aka HELL!!!

Today my run was brutal. I did it but it was hard and I am beat. I ran from Cathy's house in Sugarhouse up Immigration Canyon and back. In all it was 15 Miles of pushing myself all the way. If you have ever ran distance you have probably had one of these type of runs. Your legs hurt as you start you can't stay hydrated and you can't seem to muster up even one possitive thought.

I stuck it out the entire run and felt GOOD when I was all done.

Riley's new heroes.

Last night we attended the Utah gymnastics meet against the University of Minnesota. To say the least Riley is hooked. The entire ride home she could not stop talking. "Dad do you think it will be awesome if I collect gymnastic posters?" Then she started reading Ashley Postell's stats off of the back of the poster that they hand out. Later in the night she commented on how impressed by those stats she was, "Dad can you believe Ashley Postell has won 4 straight balance beam competitions?"

I love having a girly girl.

Cleaning House.

My lovely wife signed us up to clean the Conference Center Thursday night. We drove down to the CC at about 9:30 P.M. and worked until just shy of midnight. My job was to vacuum several sections of the floor in the main hall. I felt like a Ghostbuster with the handy pack vac they gave us.

While I was thus vacuuming in front of the stand they brought out an empty casket for measuring and placement practice for the funeral on Saturday. It was a really neat experience. The choir had just finished a rehearsal and they were playing it back over the speakers. It was easy work too. I think that I saw about 3 specs of dust the entire time I cleaned.

I was grateful for an opportunity to serve.
